Leadership
Joining the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) was a defining chapter of my journey at Old Dominion University. As part of a four person Success Networking Team, we met weekly to set goals, track progress, and support one another's personal and academic growth. These consistent meetings helped sharpen my sense of accountability, communication, and collaboration which are core traits of any effective leader.
Throughout my time in NSLS, I participated in Leadership Training Day and orientation, and watched powerful broadcasts from nationally acclaimed speakers who shared strategies for overcoming obstacles, leading with integrity, and staying driven. These experiences challenged me to develop a results-driven mindset and become intentional about the kind of leader I want to be.

The skills I gained helped shape my leadership style and my approach to problem-solving, especially within team settings. They’ve helped me step up in academic group projects and take initiative during engineering challenges that required both technical focus and team coordination. It has not only elevated my confidence and professionalism—it’s helped me define the kind of engineer and leader I’m becoming.
